The Khorshed Alam Research Laboratory (KARL), Department of Physics, University of Barishal, proudly congratulates two of its researchers, Md. Atikur Rahman and Md. Ashik, for securing fully funded PhD positions in the United States. Md. Atikur Rahman has been admitted to the PhD program in Physics at the University of Florida, while Md. Ashik has been admitted to the PhD program in Physics at Arizona State University. Both have completed their visa procedures and are preparing to begin their doctoral studies. During their undergraduate studies, they showed excellent academic performance and active involvement in research under the supervision of Dr. Md. Khorshed Alam, Founder and Principal Investigator of KARL. Notably, both scholars became First Class First in their respective academic sessions. Their success is a proud moment for KARL and the University of Barishal, and an inspiration for future researchers in Bangladesh.
Our Lab Chief, Dr. Md. Khorshed Alam, has been elected as a Member of the Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Physical Society for the 2026–2027 term.
This recognition reflects his dedication, leadership, and valuable contributions to the field of physics and the academic community. We believe his role will further strengthen the connection between research, education, and scientific collaboration in Bangladesh.
We are proud to share that members of KARL successfully presented their research work at the International Conference of Physics 2026, organized by the Bangladesh Physical Society and held at the University of Dhaka from April 9–11.
The conference provided a valuable platform for us to exchange ideas, connect with fellow researchers, and gain meaningful insights from the broader scientific community. Experiences like this continue to inspire us to push forward in our research journey.
Congratulations to Ashikur Rahman for achieving the Best Poster Presentation Award in the Internationa Conference of Physics 2026 organised by Bangladesh Physical society. This is a remarkable accomplishment that reflects dedication and excellence in research.
Iftar mahfil held on 3rd March, 2026 with the members of KARL. We spent a wonderful time together and exchanged our thoughts through an insightful discussion after the iftars.
